Shri Siddhivinayak Ganapati Cancer Hospital gets NABH accreditation.Posted by Admin on date: 08.12.2016

Board of Quality Council of India set up National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Health Care Providers (NABH), to establish and operate accreditation programmes for healthcare organizations. This is apex national healthcare accreditation and quality improvement body functioning at par with Global benchmarks. NABH personnel visited and inspected Shri Siddhivinayak Ganapati Cancer Hospital, Miraj in view of accreditation.
Today the hospital received Pre Accreditation Entry Level Certificate for two years from Quality Council of India, New Delhi.

Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayi Arogya Yojana has been implemented by Government of Maharashtra. This yojana is started in our Hospital on 1st January, 2016. Under this Scheme the needy, poor patient who having Yellow and Orange Ration card can avail the treatment at free of cost.

The Executive Director of Suvarn Aarogya Suraksha Trust (SAST) Bangalore,

Dr.P.Boregowda visited Shri Sidhhivinayak Ganapati Cancer Hospital, Miraj

on Monday, 12 October 2015 and held discussion with the management of

the hospital regarding implementing Vajpayee Arogyashree Scheme (VAS).

Dr. Shishir Gosavi Executive Director of SSGCH welcomed him and other

officials. During his visit he also held discussions with Arogyamitra and

Doctors of VAS impaneled hospitals in nearby district. All the participants

actively participate in this meeting. Dr. P. Boregowda satisfied all the queries

raised by participants. Dr. P. Boregowda took review of all the empanelled

hospitals and announced that SSGCH has treated highest number of cancer

patients in all over Maharashtra. He praised that SSGCH, being run by the

trust has done good work in providing free treatment to poor patient under

VAS scheme. On the behalf of SSGCH Dr. Vikas Gosavi (Medical Director),

Prof. Dr. Yashwant Toro (Director – Admin & Research) and Dr. Harshad

The 18th anniversary annual function was celebrated at Shri Siddhivinayak Ganapati Cancer

Hospital seminar hall on Sunday 11th October 2015.

The chief guest of function was Honorable Mr. Aziz Karche, Commissioner of Sangali – Miraj

–Kupwad Municipal Corporation. Program was started with felicitation of chief guest by our

Executive Director Dr. Shishir Gosavi. Introduction of guest was delivered by Dr. Vikas Gosavi

(Medical Director).

‘At this competitive time the SSGCH has maintained his quality, and that it has become a major

center for cancer treatment in Maharashtra region’ Said the chief guest.

Dr. Shishir Gosavi explained hospital establishment, currently running unique departments and

he explained in detail of the future major projects.

Doctors, Resident Medical Officers and skilled employees were honored for their contribution to

the success of the hospital. Employee’s meritorious children’s were also honored at this time by

chief guest.

The program was attended by Dr. Amita Gosavi (Joint Executive Director), Dr. Vikas Gosavi (

Medical Director), Prof. Dr. Yashwant Toro (Direcor – Admin & Research), consultant doctors

and large number of employees.

You and your team proved year after year that nothing succeeds like success. This is the 12th such achievement in the last 16 years.

A free medical health checkup camp was organized on 9th August, 2015 at Nirani Sugars Ltd, Mudhol. Cancer and E.N.T. checkup camp was organized in association with ‘Nirani Sugars Ltd., Mudhol’ and ‘Jivan Aasare, friends club, Mudhol’. Dr. Shriniketan Kale (Onco. Surgeon) and Dr. Uma checked patients for cancer diagnosis and Dr.Ratnamala Adur, Dr.Srushti Patil, Dr.Ashish kate and Dr. Sonar for ENT problems. Mr. V. Pujari , Mr. Jitendra Patki, Mr. Dayanand Kamble and Mr. Kishor Kurane were present for help to doctors.

Shri Murugesh Nirani, MLA and Chairman of Nirani Sugars Ltd, Mudhol was present as a Chief Guest in the inaugural function of Health Camp. Mr. Sangamesh Nirani, Executive Director of Nirani Sugars Ltd. Mudhol and all administrative staff of Nirani Sugars were also present on this occasion. Dr. Sunil Pujari , President of ‘Jivan Aasare friends club’ were present with all members of friend club. Mr. Nirani felicitated Dr. Kale and other doctors.

Medical check of patients of cancer was done by Dr. Shriniketan Kale. Dr. Uma informs about SSGCH through PowerPoint presentation. She also gives speech on cancer disease and effects of tobacco in Kannada language. Doctors advise peoples various medicines and consultation during the camp. Approximate 230 peoples came for the health camp.

Dr Khochikar was invited to talk on Take Home message on testicular, penile and urethral cancer at the recently held American Urological Association meeting held at New Orleans, USA . The meeting was attended by over 16,000 delegates from nearly 120 countries.

Dr Khochikar also delivered a talk on Current trends in the management of Adrenal tumours at the joint session of PanAfrican and American urology group at the same meeting (PAUSA -AUA meeting).

On the occasion of ‘World Blood Donor Day’ (14th June) we Shri Siddhivinayak Ganapti Cancer Hospitals Blood Bank organized blood collection camp with courtesy of Gram-Panchayat Amanapur Tal- Palus. It was huge response from young blood donors.
‘World Blood Donor Day’ is celebrated every year on the day of birth anniversary of Karl Landsteiner on 14th of June. He is the one who invented the main blood groups in 1900 and having developed the modern system of classification of blood groups. World Blood Donor Day (WBDD) is observed every year globally on 14th June for expressing gratitude to the blood donors who save lives by donating blood. The day also creates awareness of the blood donation and highlights why blood donation is important.
Anyone between the age group of 18 to 65, weighing above 45 kgs, and having a haemoglobin level of 12.5 or above can easily donate the blood. The blood donated is much lesser than needed for the body. You can and should donate blood every three months. Platelets by aphaeresis method can be donated after 48 hours or twice a week or 24 times in a year. Each time you donate blood, you might save upto three lives, and not just one. Remember a small drop of your blood can be a hope for someone else. So be a hero and make the blood donation because there is nothing more beautiful than saving a life!

On the occasion of ‘No Tobacco Day’, Shri Siddhivinayak Ganapati Cancer Hospital, Miraj in association with Indian Medical Association conducted a lecture for Sangli police regarding the tobacco menace on 2, June 2015. In this program our Cancer Surgeon Dr. Priyadarshan Chitale explained ill effects of tobacco. The program was attended by nearly 200 police officers. The lecture was followed by Question – Answering session about ill effects of tobacco.

To encourage the blood donors a Honor to the Blood Donor meet function was organized at seminar hall of SSGCH on 19th May, 2015 in the presence of Chief Guest - Dr. Dipti Dongaonkar, Dean of Government Medical College, Miraj, Dr. Amita Gosavi, Joint Executive Director of SSGCH, Prof. Dr. Yashwant Toro, Director (Admin & Research), Dr. Abhijit Udgaonkar, Head of Blood Bank, Dr. Mohan Mendhapurkar, Dr. Priyadarshan Chitale, Dr. Dinesh Badakh, Dr. Amit Grover and Dr. Uday Phatak. There was huge response from Blood donors and Blood camp organizers.

During the function, our Chief Guest Dr. Dipti Dongaonkar expressed importance of the Blood Donation and appreciated the ultra modern facilities that available in blood bank. The certificate of honor was also given to the regular blood donors during the function and organizers at the hands of chief guest Dr. Dongaonkar

An informative slideshow of hospital and progress of Blood bank was presented by Blood bank head Dr. A. Udgaonkar. Dr. Amita Gosavi appeals to blood donors to motivated people to create new donors. Advt. Satyajit Shengushi expressed his views on the Blood Donation.
The youths were called upon to donate the blood regularly to remove the myths prevailing in the society regarding the blood donation.

We cordially welcome you to the 15th Annual update in surgical pathology. This one day CME a joint effort of the department of surgical pathology SSG Cancer Hospital and Bhende Memorial Group is to be held on 22 Feb 2015, in memory of Late Dr. Y.M. Bhende.

Our aim is to focus on developing a systematic approach to the histopathological diagnosis as well as insight into the recent advances of Soft Tissues Sarcomas and Central Nervous System tumors. Another kay highlight will be elucidation of difficult diagnosis in surgical pathology. There will be didactic lectures, slide seminars and case based discussions providing a forum for debate and interactive learning. We are very fortunate to have distinguished faculty of experts from Mumbai. Dr. Bharat Rekhi, professor Tata Memorial Hospital with a special interest in CNS and Dr. Jay Mehata consultant pathology, Central of Excellence, SRA, Mumbai will share with us their vast experience and expertise in this subject.

We are sure this scientific feast will be beneficial to practicing pathologist, clinical oncologist and importantly the post graduate students. We have applied for MMC credit points accreditation.

The 12th Dr. D.K. Gosavi Memorial Oration Award Ceremony will be held on Sunday - 7th April 2013 at Seminar Hall of the hospital.
The award will be presented to Dr. S. K. Shrivastava (Prof. & Head of the Dept. of Radiation Oncology, TMH, Mumbai) at the hands of Dr. V. N. Shrikhande, an eminent Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgeon, Mumbai.
There will be an interesting CME on Management of Cervical Cancer which will feature an interactive session with the audience.

Patients with non-small-cell lung cancer survive longer if they are taking beta-blockers while receiving radiotherapy, according to a study of 722 patients published in the cancer journal Annals of Oncology.

Researchers at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, USA) reviewed the progress and outcomes of patients who had received radiotherapy as their main or first line of treatment for cancer (known as “definitive radiotherapy” i.e. radiotherapy that is delivered at doses of 60 Gy or more, with the intention of curing the disease).
